5 Things We're Thankful for This Year
The holiday season can bring a lot of emotion, from the excitement of celebrations to the stress of hosting them. Amidst that whirlwind, it can be easy to lose sight of what we’re celebrating, like the people, relationships and achievements another year has brought. At CDT and PBI, we have a long list of things to be thankful for, but today we wanted to share 5 that are resonating with us most this season – reminders of why we’re so passionate about what we do and why we’re excited for what’s ahead.
Sports That Fuel Our Personal and Professional Wellbeing
This benefit can easily be lost in the shuffle of day-to-day work, but we want to show gratitude for a profession that truly keeps us healthy. Racquet sports are widely known for their physical health benefits, from cardiovascular endurance to muscle strength and flexibility. But we are also grateful for sports that challenge us mentally. Even our most tenured teaching professionals are constantly honing their craft and learning new techniques, both to play these racquet sports and coach them. Some of our team members even compete outside of work, simply because they love the game and the challenge it brings. Not everyone can say that their job keeps them healthy, but at CDT and PBI, we are certainly thankful for a career that positively influences our personal and professional wellbeing on a daily basis.
Clients Who Drive Our Dedication and Joy
"Find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life." This famous Mark Twain quote reminds us that passion can make work feel effortless. At CDT and PBI, we’re fortunate to be surrounded by sports we truly love, but what really makes our roles special is the people we work with. It’s the clients—each with their own dedication to tennis, pickleball, and padel—that inspire us to be the best coaches we can be. Whether through Signature Events or local club clinics, we are grateful to work alongside such passionate individuals. Our CDT and PBI clients are the heart of what we do, and they deserve to be celebrated.
Equipment That Empowers Our Games
In the technical and client-facing world of racquet sports, the equipment we use and recommend to our players has a crucial role in our company’s success. HEAD and Wilson, CDT and PBI partners, respectively, have been longstanding providers of the racquets, paddles, apparel, balls and equipment our coaching professionals rely on. These brands are not only renowned for their exceptional products, but they also share our commitment to continuous improvement at CDT and PBI. As we begin another year as proud partners of HEAD and Wilson, we are deeply grateful for their support, cutting-edge technology, and shared values for success.
Dedicated Partners Around the Globe
Alongside our valued equipment partners, we’re fortunate to work with a diverse network of resort and club partners worldwide who are equally committed to advancing racquet sports. In 2024, we have had the pleasure of welcoming new faces to our family, like the esteemed, private Club at 3 Creek in Jackson, Wyoming, and the forward-thinking team at Minor League Pickleball. Meanwhile, our Experience Travel Team has secured new agreements with CDT and PBI resorts to bring even more luxurious travel and Signature Event experiences to our clients in 2024 and beyond.
Innovation That Pushes Us Forward
The world of racquet sports is always growing and evolving, and as another year draws to a close, we feel incredibly grateful to be at the forefront of this exciting progress. Prior to the COVID-19 era of 2020, we could have been considered tennis diehards – maybe even purists. But as social distancing prompted the growth of new outdoor racquet sports, we found ourselves joining into the evolution of pickleball and padel at more of our properties. We forged new industry partnerships with developing and seasoned players, educated our professionals on these additional sports, and designed brand-new travel events and programs to complement our racquets offerings. We are thankful for another year of growth and development throughout the industry, and look forward to the new ways we can get on court with players around the globe in 2025.
